The mustang started out brand new and bone stock. The pursuit for power didn’t take long. Just 2 months of driving it around in stock form, it was time for more power! So it was fitted with a ProCharger running 9psi and made a respectable 575whp and 525wtq on California 91 Octane fuel. Although the ProCharged mustang was fun, it still didn’t give the full thrill that was desired.
So just 7 months later the decision to sell the kit and start over was made. The goal was to design and build a Twin Turbo kit that would rival anything out on the market. And after months of development Twinturbomustang.net is proud to bring you our “Blackbird twin turbo kit.”

Simple facts about turbochargers….they get hot, real hot! Although these bad boys make heat for all the right reasons, the engine parts under the hood shouldn’t be involved. So it was the preferred choice to mount them in a place where heat is more suitable. And that is in line with the exhaust system.
Heat is a killer, it kills components, causes premature failure of other parts, and doesn’t help the engines cooling system. This makes reliability and consistent power production a challenge if not designed correctly.
So we decided to mount them here:
We have 3 different Manifold options to choose from. Our Blackbird Twin Turbo System can be customized to match your goals. All of our manifolds are designed for maximum power and longevity. They are all made for maximum power and are superior to any log manifold out there.
You can choose our SS-065-304 Stainless Manifolds, Schedule 10 SS-304 Stainless, and of course our Burns 321 Stainless option.

These are hands down the best turbo manifolds you can put on your S550 Mustang. They utilize Burns stainless Merge Collectors and equal length runners. Our design utilizes 1 ¾ primaries for maximum flow. The Burns collectors have been computer designed and dyno proven to broaden the power band from idle to redline. This manifold promotes better scavenging from the cylinder head as well as higher velocity out of the exhaust port.
Although these headers are a bit pricey, they are the best that money can buy. They are made out of 321 Stainless and are TIG welded on special fixtures to ensure perfect fitment. We also utilize 1/2″ head flanges to reduce warping.

Drawing on decades of intercooling, turbocharging and supercharging experience, the team at Bell Intercoolers has first hand knowledge of the subtleties and specific requirements of intercooler design and theory. Real world racing experience, from Laguna Seca to Silverstone, ensures an intercooler that will hold up under the pressures of your application, whether it is heading for the track or the street.
Add to this a depth of engineering expertise, ranging from Formula 1 racing to aircraft design and structural analysis and you have all the ingredients required to guarantee an intercooler product with optimum design and the highest quality. Finally we take the Bell core and build custom end tanks designed to maximize the flow and fitment for our Turbo system.
Two sizes are available for our Blackbird kit. Either the 3.5”x10x24 or step up to the 4.5”x10x24. Both easily handle 1000+hp and have excellent cooling capabilities.

GPM Pump Rate
350F Fluid Temperature. No other pump comes close. All the materials used in the engineering of this pump were chosen to support extreme duty at extreme temperatures – constantly.2-3 GPM Pump Rate.
Most other pumps have a specified rating of <2GPM. The Exa-Pump’s® 2-3 GPM of open-flow (0-PSI) gives the ability to easily scavenge from any turbo type or configuration, including the full flow twin turbo set-ups, or serious supplemental engine oil and/or transmission/rear-end fluid circulation through external radiators.
Our custom oil return system insures that every bit of oil is returned back properly to the engine. After shut-off the oil from the turbo needs to drain somewhere. The Exa-pump and oil system come with a 2 year warranty.
